This site features a Pictorial Essay covering my visit to the Space Center at Cape Kennedy in Florida, last Winter of 2007.  While NASA is currently celebrating the 50th year of its founding as a civilian space agency, the year 2009 will mark the celebration of the 40th year Anniversary of the first moon landing- an a task that President Kennedy had boldly declared to put the first man on the moon "before the end of the decade". . . Indeed as American Astronaut Neil Armstrong aptly put it, ". . . a small step for man, but a giant leap for mankind. . ."  that was in July of 1969. . . almost half a century ago!
